Project 5 Task 1
The benefits of students blogging include:
- Students are able to work collaboratively on material related to classroom content outside the time frame of the regularly scheduled class.
- Students generate dialogue in a medium that allows for them to take the necessary time to think about their ideas and comments, which results in a deeper level of conversation/interaction with their peers.
- Students develop a greater sense of ownership for their thoughts and comments as they realize that they will be read by a larger audience than just their teacher.
- Students develop technological skills that relate to editing and web design as they are able to add content to their blogspot and modify its appearance for the aesthetic quality.
- Students learn the responsibility of digital citizenship as they are posting to the Internet, they learn that their content and comments are permanently on the Internet and should be appropriate and safe.
